There is so much cedar around the studio and in our community. Sacred Cedar. Sometimes, if parts are not needed, it gets left around or not used to its best ability. Meanwhile, when creating inks and paints, you need a preservative. We invested in a copper still to distill cedar boughs and sawdust into cedar essential oil to be used in our paints and inks. This process produces a beautiful-smelling by-product: hydrosol. Hydrosol can be used as a room spray and has many other uses due to its wonderful aroma and gentle mist.
